October Issue of The Trail Mix

In This Issue: Emotional Wellness – Keeping in Touch with Your Inner Child

The October issue of The Trail Mix celebrates emotional wellness, the joys of staying young at heart, and the many ways Trinity Woods continues to grow stronger through faith, movement, friendship, and community.

The issue opens with “Keeping in Touch with Your Inner Child,” a reminder that growing older doesn’t mean leaving wonder, curiosity, and playfulness behind. From dancing in the kitchen and spending time outdoors to revisiting a favorite childhood activity, readers are encouraged to make room for joy, creativity, laughter, and self-kindness as important parts of emotional wellness.

In “A Harvest of Faith,” Chaplain Weldon Tisdale reflects on the seeds we plant throughout our lives through kindness, prayer, encouragement, generosity, service, and compassion. His message reminds us that even small acts of faithfulness can grow into something meaningful and that the relationships and lives we nurture can become part of a lasting legacy.

October is also WALKTOBER at Trinity Woods! Members and employees are encouraged to get moving and experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of walking. Participants in the WalkTober Challenge will combine their daily miles to see how far the Trinity Woods community can travel along Route 66—from Chicago to Santa Monica.

CEO Garrett Lee shares “The Gravity of Governance,” highlighting the important role of the Trinity Woods Board of Directors and recognizing the leadership, expertise, stewardship, and commitment its members bring to the organization. The issue also celebrates team members reaching 5 and 15 years of service.

Readers have plenty to look forward to this month, including the return of the Trinity Woods Chorus, a book review of Theo of Golden, Oktoberfest with German food, music, and dancing, and Metro Christian Academy’s presentation of The Amazing Lemonade Girl. The month wraps up with the annual Trunk-or-Treat, bringing together Trinity Woods members, employees, families, and children for a fun evening of costumes and candy.

October’s edition also includes seasonal October Fun Facts, birthdays and anniversaries, a warm welcome to new neighbors, and recognition of this month’s STARS Employee of the Month, along with employees celebrating important service milestones.

From staying young at heart and getting your steps in to planting seeds of kindness, welcoming new neighbors, and enjoying fall events together, the October issue reflects the many ways Trinity Woods members and employees continue to stay active, encourage one another, build friendships, and enjoy life together.
