Confidence in God’s Continuing Work

By Weldon Tisdale, Chaplain

As the beauty of May unfolds around us with blooming flowers, warmer days, and the gentle renewal of creation, we are reminded of God’s ongoing work in our lives. Just as the earth awakens with new life, so too does the Lord continue to cultivate growth, purpose, and hope within each of us, no matter the season of our life.

One of the great encouragements of Scripture is found in Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

What a promise to hold onto. The Lord does not abandon the work of His hands. He is faithful to finish what He starts. Whether a person is in the season of planting, growing, harvesting, or resting, God remains active and present. At Trinity Woods, we are blessed to see this truth lived out through lives filled with faith, wisdom, kindness, and steadfast hope.

Consider a quilt made from many different pieces of fabric. At first glance, the individual pieces may seem ordinary, even mismatched. But when carefully sewn together, they become something beautiful, warm, and lasting. Each piece has a place, and each thread matters.

Our lives are much like that quilt. God takes the varied experiences of our years—joys, challenges, victories, losses, griefs and lessons—and He weaves them together into a meaningful testimony of His grace. Even when we cannot see the full pattern, we can trust the hand of the Master Designer. He is still at work, and He is creating something beautiful.

As we consider God’s continued work in each of our lives, let us also remember the greater sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for us. His love is the foundation of our hope and the source of our peace. Because of Him, we can face each day with confidence, knowing that our lives are held
securely in His hands.

May this season bring you encouragement and joy. May you be reminded that God is not finished with you yet. The One who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. Blessings to you this May.
