Celebrating Godly Men

By Weldon Tisdale, Chaplain

June is Men’s Health Awareness Month. It is also the month we celebrate Father’s Day. Therefore, we take this opportunity to celebrate and honor the men in our lives—fathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles, husbands, and friends—who walk in faith and lead by example. This month we reflect on the biblical principles that guide and inspire godly men. However, this is not just for godly men but for anyone in Christ.

1. Strength and Courage: The Bible calls men to be strong and courageous. In Joshua 1:9, we read, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” This verse reminds us that true strength comes from
trusting in God’s presence and guidance.

2. Leadership and Service: Godly men are called to lead with humility and serve with love. In Mark 10:45, Jesus sets the ultimate example: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Men who follow Christ’s example lead by serving others, putting the needs of their families and communities above their own.

3. Faithfulness and Integrity: Proverbs 20:7 tells us, “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.” A man of faithfulness and integrity sets a strong foundation for his family. His commitment to living a righteous life blesses not only his own path but also the generations that follow.

4. Wisdom and Understanding: James 1:5 encourages us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Godly men seek wisdom from the Lord, understanding that true knowledge and discernment come from Him. They make decisions rooted in prayer and scripture.

This special men’s month let’s honor the men who strive to live according to the Word of God. Their faith, strength, and love are a testament to the power of a life rooted in Christ. May we all be inspired by their example and continue to support and encourage one another in our walk with the Lord.

Wishing you all a blessed and joyful June!
